Michelle Viana has represented several Brazilians in connection with personal injury and wrongful death cases. Just recently, Ms. Viana filed a wrongful death suit against The City of New York, successfully achieving a multimillion-dollar settlement award for the family of the deceased. Ms. Viana also litigated a wrongful death case against Tam Airlines S.A. for the wrongful death of a Brazilian citizen during a flight from New York City to Rio de Janeiro, obtaining a several hundred thousand dollars settlement award for her client. In addition, Ms. Viana represented several clients in connection with personal injury actions against major American corporations such as The Trump Hotel Las Vegas, The Apple Store, The 230 Fifth Avenue Rooftop, The Peninsula Hotel, Amtrak, and The City of New York.
Attorney Viana also has unique knowledge and expertise in the area of international estate proceedings, having represented countless Brazilians and their families in the probation of Last Wills and Testaments, and in Administration and Ancillary proceedings filed with The New York Surrogate’s Court.
Ms. Viana has also extensive experience with prenuptial agreements, divorce matters, international custody procedures, child support and paternity investigation cases involving Brazilian and American individuals.
